Matt (H) founded Browsium, Inc. after spending several years working with Microsoft customers on Internet Explorer. There he recognized the need for browser related tools and solutions to enable business customers to more effectively manage the browser environment. He started his work with Microsoft during the release of Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP SP2, and has gained extensive knowledge of Internet Explorer as well as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari and Opera. Prior to Browsium, Matt founded Text’d, LLC a technical services firm building wireless search platform tools, as well as technical product management and marketing services.
Matt also served as the Vice President of Operations for Overture Services, Inc. (now Yahoo! Search Marketing) – a global leader in pay-for-performance search on the Internet. During his time at Overture, Matt oversaw the creation and execution of all technology systems, as well as defining technology standards for worldwide operations. Additionally, Matt provided operational technology evaluations for numerous M&A transactions. Prior to Overture, Matt served as the Director of Information Technology for Network Solutions, the global leader in domain name registrations and services. Matt has also led technology teams as Manager of Information Services for Booz Allen & Hamilton.
Having started his career wanting to be in television and film, Matt worked as a multi-media applications developer and even served as special events producer for the Fox Broadcasting System. Thanks to the insight and life experiences of a few seasoned TV reporters, Matt left broadcasting behind.
Matt received his Master’s degree in Telecommunications from The George Washington University, with a minor in Computer and Network Security. His Bachelor’s degree in Communications is from The George Washington University. Matt (H) can be reached at matt@browsium.com.
Gary brings 20 years of experience creating and launching technology products and businesses to Browsium. He spent the bulk of his professional life at Microsoft and Apple, with a few technology startups mixed in. Gary completed a 14 year career at Microsoft earlier in 2010 where he worked in the Windows division contributing to the $15B/year business as director of various product management and marketing teams. For four of those years he headed up the product management team for Internet Explorer, defining and launching Internet Explorer 7 and seeing the business through the Windows XP security crisis. His other duties at Microsoft included strategic leadership roles in Windows Server, Windows Media, and the Windows 7 hardware ecosystem, where he became an expert on hardware and software compatibility and operating system migration.
Prior to Microsoft, Gary spent 3+ years in product management at Apple in Cupertino, focused on Apple’s workgroup and enterprise server business. Most recently he served as vice-president of product marketing for MOD Systems, an innovative Seattle startup building kiosks to deliver digital movies and music at retail. He has a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and an MBA from San Diego State University. Gary can be reached at gary@browsium.com.
Matt (C) devotes his time to (what some would call) a pretty lofty goal: building a better web. After years of frustration as a web developer, software architect, and frequent MSDN forum contributor, he joined Browsium to make this dream a reality.
Matt had spent the last few years at Microsoft as a Program Manager on the Internet Explorer and ASP.NET teams. His work on IE was spent designing features around ActiveX and Protected Mode for IE8. His IE9 responsibilities included new Developer Tools features and the design of the Internet Explorer Platform Preview. Matt lived out his formative years performing development and research work on projects ranging from large-scale Python CMS creation to designing hyper-spectral image analysis systems for unmanned aircraft. He was also the founder and CEO of The Sour Lemon™, a very successful lemonade stand on his parents’ tree lawn.
He leveled-up with a BSEE in Computer Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. It is there where he devises the latest and greatest solutions for Browsium, influenced by Rock & Roll, Polish Boys, and The Drew Carey Show. As this great city marches onward towards 70 years without a major sports championship, you can be sure Matt will be spending his time bettering your business instead of sitting around at some basketball game.
