Global deployment rule set JAR files appear unsigned in Java Control Panel

Applies To

Ion 4.0+

Summary

When using Limited Java profiles, the generated deployment rule set is visible inside of Java Control Panel. When viewing the generated deployment rule set, you will see a notice saying that a time stamp is not available. This is because Ion does not time stamp Java deployment rule set JAR files.

Deployment rule set JAR files that are used by Ion use a self-signed certificate with a 50-year expiration date, so this should not impact your ability to use Ion in your environment. In addition, because a self-signed certificate is used for each web application remediation, time stamping the generated JAR file would present no security benefit. For those reasons, you will see this notice when viewing the deployment rule set information inside of the Java Control Panel.
