Browsium Client 4.4.0 and newer
Depending upon your environment’s settings you may see the following error when the Browsium Client attempts to auto-enable it’s extensions. This is caused by a conflict between Chrome’s security settings and the Browsium Client’s extension auto-enable feature introduced in 4.4.0.
If you are seeing this error after installing the Browsium Client or would like to disable the Browsium Client’s auto-enable extensions feature, you can do so either by providing a flag at install time by adding the ‘KEEP_EXTENSIONS_ENABLED=0’ flag or setting one of the following registry keys. Note that you should either have settings in place to enable your extensions or plan to do so via Group Policy if you modify this setting.
Setting HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Browsium\Client\KeepExtensionsEnabled (REG_DWORD) with a value of 0 will turn off the features for all browsers (Internet Explorer, Edge, Chrome, Firefox).
To disable the feature for a specific browser you will need to create the following registry entry:
For Internet Explorer, setting HKLM\Software\Policies\Browsium\Client\KeepExtensionsEnabledIE (REG_DWORD) with a value of 0
For Edge, setting HKLM\Software\Policies\Browsium\Client\KeepExtensionsEnabledEdge (REG_DWORD) with a value of 0
For Chrome, setting HKLM\Software\Policies\Browsium\Client\KeepExtensionsEnabledChrome (REG_DWORD) with a value of 0
For Firefox, setting HKLM\Software\Policies\Browsium\Client\KeepExtensionsEnabledFirefox (REG_DWORD) with a value of 0
