Important notice regarding Catalyst and Chrome 73

Applies To

Catalyst 3.0+, 4.0+

Summary

Chrome has changed how it responds to Catalyst’s “Same Page” action and that change has resulted in some unexpected behavior for “Same Page” re-directions from Chrome to other browsers. For Catalyst installations with the default extension settings, your Chrome extension should automatically update with no additional action required.

Details

The “Same Page” behavior has been slightly modified and you may notice the originating page reloading to preserve the “Same Page” action.

Below is a table of Browsium Client (4.x) and Catalyst (3.x) extension updated version numbers:

Browsium Client 4.6.x: Browsium Client Extension 4.6.0 => 4.6.1
Browsium Client 4.5.x: Browsium Client Extension 4.5.1 => 4.5.2
Browsium Client 4.4.x: Browsium Client Extension 4.4.6 => 4.4.7
Browsium Client 4.3.x: Browsium Client Extension 4.3.11 => 4.3.12
Browsium Client 4.0.x, 4.1.x, 4.2.x: Browsium Client Extension 4.2.0.2 => 4.2.0.3
Browsium Catalyst Client 3.1.x, 3.2.x: Browsium Catalyst Client Extension 3.1.2.2 => 3.1.2.3

If you manage your own extension updates you will need to download the extension and make modifications to your settings inside the .XML file to point to the updated .CRX file. You should not have to modify the entry for Chrome extension auto-enable in your Group Policy settings as the AppID and .XML file name should not have changed.
